Grants Compliance and Reporting Accountant

Jen ensures compliance with grant policies, procedures, and contractual obligations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Collaborating with program staff and finance, she develops and implements effective compliance strategies and maintains comprehensive records of grant-related activities.

Prior to joining the MSU Research Foundation in 2023, Jen worked in public accounting at Hobe & Lucas, CPAs, Inc. in Independence, Ohio, focusing on tax and audit services for various clients, including non-profits. She moved to Michigan and worked at a local CPA firm in the Metro-Detroit area, concentrating on audit engagements for manufacturing companies. She worked 10 years at Kalamazoo Public Schools, managing the grants program finances and ensuring compliance with diverse grant requirements from various funding sources.

Jen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from Bowling Green State University. She resides in the Kalamazoo area with her husband and two cats.
